Thanked: 0Hello from Cali
Hey folks,
First post on here and hopefully a long time member on here from now on. I come here after a bad experience. I, like many others, went off and got myself a GB Buckingham blade from those Vintage Razor guys (selling on Amazon). Customer support wise, they were great but the first blade had a crack through the handle (was hanging by a thread of metal) and the replacement just will not sharpen.
I have now read some of the other horror stories on here and elsewhere on the web and feel in safer company here.
First stop, the classifieds to see if i can get a decent blade without breaking the bank. Any leads?

G'Day and welcome to the fold.
You are not the first and probably not the last to get a 'razor shaped object' and find that it doesn't perform it's intended function.
Glad to have you with us here.
When looking in the classifieds, PM the seller and get some advice from them and you should be OKHang on and enjoy the ride...

Thanked: 275Try for something between $40 and $50 in the "Classifieds" here. By and large, everything for sale there is a good razor. Prices vary according to condition, and (sometimes) rarity. But a tarnished razor, with some old rust, is still perfectly serviceable.
You might try Whipped Dog Straight Razor Shaving Equipment as an alternative. Larry specializes in low-cost vintage razors, and has a good reputation. For a complete kit, he's probably your cheapest reliable source.

PS -- a _new_ razor is $80 and up -- the Dovo "Best Quality" is a good bet. And get it from a seller who hones it for you.. . . . . Mindful shaving, for a better world.

Foob, 'sorry to hear of the heartburn. 'Had my share, mostly self-inflicted. 'Chat & 'Cohen tell ya right. If you have trouble finding good candidates, PM me. Should you find a blade you're happy with, but not happy w/ the edge, pm me also.
I think you'll be glad you landed here. I could never repay the help I've gotten.
