Hi all

I am Alex, from Palm Beach, Florida. I currently go to school at UCF in Orlando. I am 22 years old. 4 years ago, my family went to Las vegas. I hadn't shaved in a few weeks. I started growing facial hair around age 14, so by age 18 a few weeks was very scruffy. My father and I were walking through the Mandalay Bay mall area, when we passed the Art of Shaving. There was a Barber in and free. That was my first straight razor shave, and I've wanted to start myself ever since. Yesterday, I found myself in the art of shaving at the Millenia Mall in Orlando, and I finally said, "what the hell." I bought a disposable blade straight razor and went home. I knew that the angles had to be right, and I shouldn't use pressure, and I took my time. I ended up nicking my chin (which I later found from the beginner forum here, I shouldn't have attempted). All said and done, I really enjoyed the experience and got a great shave. I will take it slow now, and try and better my skills. I hope to graduate to a fixed blade and strop soon, hopefully with some much need advice from here.

Cheers
