Old New Guy
Hi,
I am new to straight razor shaving. I am 50 and I work as a professional in the city. That means I have to look nice and wear suits to work. In the past I shaved with a Fusion and canned cream. Switched to a brush and I am going to try the Dovo Razor with replacement blades.
I hope to learn how to take care of a real straight razor and buy a good one. Why? I guess watching too many videos on the computer. You all make this look so easy. No worries, I am in for the long haul with lots of patience, and I don't care if the shave is not close at first.
Mostly I want to poke around and read and learn. My father taught me shaving with a Norelco double headed shaver. I have a heavy beard that can stop an electric razor so mostly used those EXPENSIVE cartridge razors.
Thanks for allowing me to be here. So far I have learned all about brushes, shaving cream, etc. There is so much and I thought shaving was simple? I just want to understand it all.Bill

Welcome! Keep on reading and learning. It is easy to start too quickly, and much better if you take your time and take the whole process on gradually.
