Newbie from Kennewick, WA
So glad I found this forum, and also really happy to find that I'm not alone in my pursuit of a non-boring shave. I've been bouncing the idea of going to a SR for a few months, but assumed (you know, ass out of you and me) that I'd be going it alone so had been putting off diving in. Imagine my surprise to find that not only am I not the only guy in the US looking to do this, but thousands have gone before me and have done such a fantastic job of documenting the endeavor! Anywho, I just purchased a new SR and brush (beautiful!) from gssixgun and I am anxiously awaiting their delivery so I can have my first SR shave. I can honestly say, this is the first time I've looked forward to a shave since I wasn't old enough to need to shave- I feel like a kid on Christmas eve.

Thanked: 13247Welcome aboard the Straight Train, always good to have another PNW guy on board, we actually have a pretty active group up in the area, in fact we just had a meet in Spokane last weekend...
If you ever get up to the Sandpoint area feel free to fire me a PM and we'll get together over Coffee or Beers and talk Straight Razors till our ears bleed...

I may take you up on that Glen. Besides the annual trip with the family to Silverwood, I pass through Sandpoint a few times for year going up to the mines in Montana for work.

Welcome to SRP, if you got one of Glen's blades you are a lucky man. That thing is gonna be sweet!
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Welcome fellow Central Washingtonian!
There plenty of us out there, that's for sure. Even quite a few closer to you than I. If you ever have a question feel free to send me a PM and if you're ever in Yak give me some notice and we can discuss all things razor related.
Enjoy your shaves.
