Thread: Aloha from VA

Hey y'all. Been reading through SRP for a few weeks and decided to join. Currently still with a safety razor, but hoping to change that. Active duty Coast Guard: Just restationed from Hawaii back to my home state of Virginia. My true transition to a straight razor may be delayed a bit though, because after 12 years of wearing the uniform daily, my job right now includes civilian clothes and an opportunity to grow a beard. So I figure I have 6mos. to enjoy my beard and get ready / get smart on straight razors before I need to shave again. In that time I'll be trying to glean as much advice as possible from the wisdom here on the forum. You all seem like a great bunch of guys so I'm looking forward to the learning!

You are not alone in being bearded and wet shaving. I wear a near full beard but use my safety razor and straights pretty regularly to keep my neck and upper lip comfy and nekkid.
