    Default Hey everyone

    Hello everyone,

I am just starting out on this quest of manhood in shaving. I am in the Army, I have already served five years and since I am shaving everyday to stay in regulation I decided to try this method out. I am tired of buying new blades and to be honest if you can't tell by my usernamer, the latest 007 movie was great at showing how cool and great of a shave you can get this way.

    Welcome to SRP!
Depending on where you are based a straight razor may not be the ideal tool for daily shaving. once you get good with a straight you might find you can skip a day between shaves and still be regulation shaved.
Wet shaving really is not about a quest for manhood it is the search for a close comfortable shave that is very enjoyable. i would reccomend that you look into a quality double edge razor, brush and shave soaps. that path is barracks friendly and will adapt itself well to field conditions.

Thank you for reporting in for Straight Razor Shaving Duty soldier. Who's Army might you be in the service of? Have you already purchased a razor and gear?
    Aloha,

Learning to shave with a straight takes time and persistence. I suggest wet shaving with a DE such as the Merkur 34C as a backup or primary method when time is short, while you learn the straight. Getting a shave ready straight to start and learning to keep it sharp by stropping correctly is critical to success. Being able to recover a less than acceptable straight shave by picking up a DE takes away anxiety and keeps the straight razor learning experience fun.
