    Default Hello from WI

Just wanted to say hello. I just finished my first straight razor shave today. I have to say that it went better than I thought. I had no nicks or cuts. I hope to stick with it and have good results. I started with a pre shave oil then whipped up some of my new Proraso blue and went to town. Finished up with a splash of Proraso after shave and a touch of balm.

Congrats Chief - and welcome to SRP!!

Sounds like you have everything you need to get the job done - no nicks makes it sound like the learning curb will be short! Woot!

    Again - welcome.

I forgot to mention that I was using the sight unseen razor from Larry at whipped dog with the poor man's strop.

I hear good things about Larry and his ability to get guys into the "sport" without breaking the bank! Nice.

I can't say enough great things about Larry and whipped dog. I purchased two very economical brushes from him. After getting into wet shaving with a safety razor, I couldn't wait to try a straight.

Welcome aboard! Where are you from? I live about 40 miles from the MN border on I-94. I've had some good luck buying from WD also!
If I may be of service, let me know.

I'm located in Appleton....which is south of Green Bay. But we do frequent the twin cities a couple of times a year.
