Thanked: 0New member from Preston, UK.
I am introducing myself as a new member to this site, and new person to, and I put this in punctuation marks as I may be frowned upon, "straight razor" shaving.
I am taking part in Movember with some other chaps at work and am sporting a fairly decent "mo", I usually use a Gillette mach 3 razor but felt this wasn't in keeping with the style I am growing so I considered getting myself a straight razor, here is where I lower my head in shame, I was a little overwhelmed by the range of razors and accessories on the market so obtained a handle type that you slide half a razor blade into.
I humbly appologise for any distress this information causes and hope that those of greater knowledge and understanding can direct this wayward novice to enlightenment, but have to say that even this cheap imitation of a proper razor has given me a far better shave than any safety razor I have ever used, even with the few scratches an untrained hand has caused, look forward to advancing my knowledge, skill and equipment.

Hi Nick and welcome to the SRP, I would say It's quite a big step from a Mach 3 to a traditional straight razor, but a Shavette could be a step to far, fairly unforgiving tool the cheap shavette but we all have to start somewhere, anyway there's no better forum for any newbie to start their straight razor journey than the straight razor place.
