Default Time to get rid of my 12 o'clock shadow

    Hi to all,

I began my journey into the world of straight razor shaving two weeks ago.
My reason is to get that close shave feel, also I get a 5 o'clock shadow few hours after a shave like at 12.

I jumped in with little research in the subject so I ended up with a cheap Black beard revenge shavette.
I know it's not a proper tool but for the purpose of building up skill and technique it's a start.
First two days of trying it took me nearly and hour, and my face looked like if freedy krugar was my barber. But hey, it's all a journey.

So far my time has come down, so have the number of cuts and slashes, I can now shave my neck and cheeks pretty clean both with and against the grain with out any problems. My biggest challenge is getting a clean chin and the most difficult the moustache area. Those two areas I finish of with a safety on the 3rd pass.

My goal is that I hope in a few months time with enough practice I can deal with the difficult areas and then invest in a proper razor. I'm thinking in the way of the Feather artist club range.

Hoping to pick up a few tips and tricks here.

I'm just starting out too and only have a few shaves under my belt, but I was also having a lot of trouble with the stache and chin are for a bit. Then one day, the stache just seemed easy and felt natural...same with the neck. My chin is still giving me problems, but it is starting to get a bit easier...hopefully one of these days it'll just happen too and then I'll be set. As far as the stache goes, for me it seems more natural and a little easier to do a bit of a cross grain first...as in working from the outer edges to the middle on each side to the center of my nose. Then on the next pass, with the grain down to the lip.

    Hope this helps a bit
