Default I moustache you a question, but I'll shave it for later

    Hello everyone!

My name is Eric. I am from Haverhill, Massachusetts. I am 24. I have grown pretty tired with electrics and cartridge razors and about a year ago I purchased a Merkur DE razor with every intention on upgrading to a straight razor.

I also love the history of barbers and find shaving with a straight razor to be something of a romance with a cruel mistress.

Right now I am using a shavette (perhaps that is where the cruelty lies) that was given to me from a buddy. I have been doing a lot of research and find it tempting to spend a lot more money than needed. Some of these razors I come across are just absolutely stunning.

I currently work as an EMT in Lawrence (for MA folk, you'll understand how big of a cesspool this city is) and work a lot of hours. Shaving with the straight razor seems to be a great ritual, allowing for a little "me" time before working doubles and triples all week.

Thank you all for having me aboard. I look forward to learning and eventually being able to contribute to the conversation!

    Eric
