Thread: Greetings from NY

Hello everyone. I am a current Gillette user and I decided to take the plunge into straight blade. Using a straight blade has always interested me but honestly scares the crap out of me. I taught myself how to use the disposable head razor, everyone in my family uses the machines. My wife has purchased a Dovo straight blade from The Art of Shaving for me and I am researching as much as possible before I take my first run at it. Although I wonder if I should tell her to return it after reading about the manufacturer's meaning of "Shave ready".

Welcome to SRP. I wouldn't necessarily send it back, rather check the classifieds here and look into the member services if you find the first shave less than comfortable.
