Thanked: 52Welcome! Shumates are good razors. As you probably already know, make sure it's been professionally honed and is shave ready.
Some of the more experienced members here are a wealth of info and always willing to answer questions.
Enjoy!

Re: Hi everyone!
You'll love it as you start to get the hang of it and become more comfortable. I have two Shumates, both are among my absolute best shavers. Best of luck.

Thanked: 0I bought the razor off the classified section in this site. Hopefully the vendor is competent at honing, if not I'll figure it out myself.

Hi, and welcome to SRP. If the razor you bought was the 9/16 Square Swayback, and that's the only one I see in the archives, recently, you can rest easy, it will be shave ready!! Don't strop it before your first use!! Be sure to read through the wiki, link below, and especially the "getting started" section. Lots of good info there. If you have questions after a little reading, etc., I'm sure we can help!! Have Fun!!
Best Regards,
Howard
