Thanked: 6New from Northwest Arkansas
Hello everybody,
I am 66 years old and have been collecting straight razors for about 10 years, almost exclusivly from ebay. I started with a 7 day set that my father gave me, after that I was hooked. I started out buying all sorts of razors, but that got a little out of hand. Then I limited my self to only razors that had boxes, which also got a little crazy (according to my wife). More recently I have only been collecting American made razors, mostly Robesons. I am still a sucker for the boxed sets, but prices are getting so high that I may have reached my limit.
I hope to be able to gleen some knowledge from the experts on this forum about Robeson razors and their history.
Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary,
Welcome to SRP!! Sounds like you may have quite a collection of razors. Do you shave with a straight also? Tyler pointed you to the search function at the top right of the page. It can be invaluable for quick access to answers for a lot of questions. Also there's the wiki, linked below, and it has a lot of info, especially for the new straight razor user. Here's another link to one of the razor clubs members have started http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-robesons.html. You'll find the main link for all clubs under "Razors", and then the very top of the list in that forum.
Family on my fathers side are in Huntsville going back to pre civil war. Spent many enjoyable days in N.W. AR. Ever think we'd get this old? I'm 66 also.
Enjoy the forum, and if we can help, ask away!!
Best Regards,
Howard.Last edited by SirStropalot; 12-05-2012 at 04:05 AM. Reason: Corrected name, missed it above.

Welcome!
My parents live in West Siloam, just across the border there. I get down that way every couple of months.

Thanked: 6Howard,
Thanks for the welcome. I am not a long time resident of AR, we retired here about six years ago from California, but I love this area and the pace of life here. I still feel 18 or 20 in my mind, but when I go to do something physical, like I did when I was 18, I get a very rude awakining.
I do have quite a few razors, and about 60 Robesons, I also have a few 7 day sets. Right now I am try to get rid of my non USA razors and concentrate on Robesons and a few Little Valley Mfgs.
Thanks again & i'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

I live out in the sticks near Harrison.
We raise Dairy goats and show them at the Tusla State Fair most every year.

Thanked: 6Thanks for the welcome, I've been lurking around the site for some time, when I saw "The Robesons" I thought I'd join up and get my feet wet.
