    Default Hello from Indiana

Hello from Indianapolis Indiana. I have been shaving with a straight razor for a year and reading the forum almost as long, so I thought I would officially introduce myself. Thank you for a year of entertainment and knowledge!

Hi, I am new to this forum and just starting to try to shave with a straight. I have been using a DE for about 3 or 4 years now and have decided to give this a go. I got my first straight shave from a Turkish barber in the UK, then got a lesson from a Turkish barber in Dublin. He gave me a shavett and some blades. When in Germany a few weeks back I picked up a new straight and watched the guy hone it for me. And I picked up a few vintage razors to practice honeing. As I look at them, there a couple I done care if I mess up. But when I showed them to an older barber he said I had a couple of good razors to shave with once they were honed and cleaned a bit.

I am still learning and trying, I have the nicks a cuts to prove it :-)

Welcome! I'm very new to this place but I've already fallen in love with it. everyone here is really friendly respectful and helpful. only forum where I haven't seen pointless arguments and people flaming each other everywhere
