Default Hi from Milton Keynes, England

    Hi All

During a recent trip to Turkey I finally plucked up the courage to go and get a shave. The nose and hair wax wasn't the most fun I've ever had and the 'neck massage' was a lot like getting beaten up, but the shave was great. Nice and smooth, no burn or irritation, a bit of a revelation really. So when I got home I chucked away my mach 3 and got me a EJ 89 DE, a cheap boar bristle brush and a dish of Mitchells Woolfat. A few months on, I still haven't cut my face off (even with the much feared/refeather blades) so I've decided it's time to join the grownups and get a sword razor as my OH calls them. I've been looking on here for while, and had a read of a lot of the beginners stuff, but wondered if anyone had any specific advice for someone going from DE to straight razor?

    Thanks in advance

    Ken

    G'Day Ken and welcome.

The only advice I could offer is to read the stickies at the top of the beginners page and follow Lyns advice.

Let us know how you go
Hang on and enjoy the ride...
