Thanked: 0Hello from the Pacific NW
Greetings all,
Just got into straight razors recently, picked up a cheap cheap razor off of Amazon as well as a strop and a soap, brush, and mug set. After putting myself through some pain with that, I got an actual nice Dovo 6/8 full hollow and my enjoyment of straight razor shaving increased quite a bit.
I am still quite new to straight razors overall and have only really learned what I know from various youtube videos so I am here looking to talk with others interested in straight razors and learn from more experienced shavers.
Hope to get to know a good chunk of you,
Christyan

Thanked: 13245Welcome
We have a rather large PNW contingent, in fact we have been holdig meetups twice a year for the last few, usually in the Spring in Yakima and in the Fall in Spokane..
Depending on where you are located there might be somebody really close, I promise you that spending a few hours with an experienced Honer and Shaver will cut your learning time down by months

Thanked: 0I am over just a few miles south of Seattle so between work and school I don't know about being able to make it to Yakima or Spokane. Maybe if it happened that I had a lighter load that weekend/week.
I would be open to meeting up with/ discussing online with anyone who wanted to give me any tips or tricks to improve my shaving; that is one of my primary reasons for joining.
Thanks,
Christyan

Welcome! I might run the spring meet during spring break if that would help you. My schedule gets quite busy with school as well.
There are a number of members up your way as well. Many in the Kent area.
If you have any questions feel free to ask or PM me. If you are ever through Yakima, just let me know with some advance and I would be willing to meet with you for a discussion or to show you some tips.
