Thread: Hello From Missouri

I have not started straight razor shaving yet, but I am very interrested. I am gathering information and building the aticipation of starting on this journey. Looks like a lot of good information and experience here.

Thank you for your replies and offers for help. I have been Lathering in a bowl with a boars hair brush for about two weeks now and have been able to produce good lather that seems to work well. I ordered a sight unseen deal from "Whipped Dog" today. I plan on ordering some "nicer" supplies probably from SRD, but I want to practice stroping, shaving, etc. with something I wont cry to hard about if I ruin it in the learning process first. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

What part of the great state are you from?

I am in South East Missouri. I have had the pleasure of meeting Lynn in our local cigar Lounge. Talking with him is really what sparked my interest in straight shaving. He has offered some great advise and I'm sure will help me along as needed, but I know he is very busy and I dont want to burden him too much. LOL
