Thread: Hello from MD

Hi there folks. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm definitely a beginner. I've been straight razor shaving for about 2-3 weeks with about 12ish shaves under my belt.

Since I didn't know if I would like and I'm a bit intimidated about keeping the razor sharp I bought one with the inserts. Specifically I bought a Parker SRW Stainless Steel Straight Edge Barber Razor & 100 Shark Super Stainless Blades. Got a Van Der Hagen Men's Luxury Shave Set and then to finish it off I got Clubman After Shave Lotion.

I like it a lot. The shave is amazing. I feel I can get 2 maybe 3 shaves before I replace the blade. Will work perfect for a bit while I read, learn and really decide what I want to get as far as a razor goes.

I've only cut myself a handful or two times. And holy cow that AS lotion after a cut is something else. I look forward to learning more about this way of shaving.

glad you are taking your time getting into things when you are ready to move to a regular razor you will like shaving even more normal straight razors are more comfortable to shave with.
