Thanked: 2Hello Everyone
I am brand new here from the Dallas, Tx area. I have been interested in straight shaving for quite some time and just never made the jump. I currently use a brush, oil, cream, and a lotion afterwards all from Art of Shaving and all unscented because I have sensitive skin. After some research I have found AOS basic straight razors to be overpriced. I asked for a boker picadilly for christmas I will probably get it but Straight Razor Designs didnt have it in stock. I know I want to start with a new razor professionally honed and a good strop with a replaceable strap. Also I wish to pick up a second razor, a hone I hear good things about the 4000/8000, and a new brush. Currently the brush I am considering is #6 from straight razor designs. Besides wanting to get started on straight shaving I spend a lot of time on my Harley, playing softball on the weekends, and scuba diving any time I get the chance. Any thing you would like to know about me or just saying hey, want to talk sports or anything else just message me. Any suggestions on places to look for the items I need, great places to get a straight shave in dallas, or items that you think are the best I have open ears! Thanks for your time everyone.

Welcome to SRP!
sounds like you are well on your way. the bokers are great shavers and a good choice. realistically you don't have to worry about the hones for a while. think about them for birthday presents along with thee new brush. take your time to get to know and master equipment before adding to the arsenal.
for a second razor you might want to look at the classifieds here.
most of all enjoy the hobby
