Thread: Seasons greetings from Holland

Hello all, I think it's time to properly introduce myself.

I'm Shaggy, aka Remco. Born and raised in The Netherlands, 37yrs so just old enough to shave I'm married, have 1 daughter and lots of pets. In normal life I work as an dental technician en part time free-lance photographer ( Remco van de Sanden Fotografie | www.remcovandesanden.nl ). Generally speaking I hate to shave myself, I mostly use clippers to trim my goatstail haha.
So what am I doing here? I love knives in all sorts, and always loved straight razors. My dad used to shave himself with the old style safetyrazors, cream and all, and I'm thinking of heading that way as well, only with the straight razor to get nice clean lines around the goatstail.

Ok, so do I have straight razors.. Ahh.. yes I do...

But somehow they don't shave as smooth as I would lik them to do
But all joking aside, I'm going to restore/remodel these razors and try to salvage them, and make them shave-worthy again. Besides the pinning which I've never don, the rest should be a fun challenge. Hop to show them of in the near future. I've been looking for some wet shaving items as wel, and hope to visit a specialized store soon to see and smell all the flavour available.

Remco, always nice to welcome an other DD (Dutch Dude) to this forum. I am a newb too but without 'old' razors. I received my first Dovo straightrazor this Christmas.
