Default Hello From Troy, New York.

Wanted to jump in here and say Hello to everyone. over the past couple of months i've been reading alot about shaving with a straight razor and watching you tube videos on straight razor shaving and wow i feel like im back in school again. lol.
But i have decided to learn more and see if i'll enjoy shaving with a straight razor. I have sensitive skin and the 5 blade razors just don't cut it and well i know my face does not appreciate it.
So i'll start off slow and start working on just 1 side of my face a few times from the sideburns down to the jaw and get use to it first before going all out. I hope to learn alot more which i know i will along the way. im slowly in the process of purchasing items needed soap/creme, brush, mug, strop, razor, stiptic pencil (spelling may be off lol ) alumbre (or alum rock) which i always have.
I'll be reading up on the forum more and more since i have just started and hope to get to know you guys more along my journey.

    Peace and God bless

    Michael

Good luck with your shaving I just started recently my self. I have been using a shavette so all I have to worry about is replacing blades right now. One day I will get everything I need to take care of a straight razor.

    Welcome to SRP!
there is a lot to learn about but the most fun is the practice. Have you decided on what type of razor you want yet?

sorry so many took the time to view but not greet you. Actually, i'm suprised people were reading yesterday. between the hangovers and football that most people dealt with.

    enjoy,
    jim

    Welcome to SRP!

I am also just getting started with SR and so far loving it. I am 5 shaves in and every time I learn little things that make the next shave much better. I started with shavette's but have since purchased a Dovo BQ Full Hollow and I am IN LOVE!

The one advice that everyone will give you is to take it slow, be patient and read, read, read, read.

    Welcome!

Michael, welcome to SRP. My first time I did my whole face and neck, I only did one pass, though. Good luck with your journey. Enjoy!
