Thread: New member from Illinois

I must say that during my previous visits as a non-member of this forum, I have found you all to be a wealth of inspiration, knowledge and encouragement to both beginner and seasoned straight razor users. Your willingness and enthusiasm to share has resulted in yet another convert to the enjoyment and benefit of the straight razor.


I began my journey into straight razor shaving six months ago after reading the Wiki and following many of your recommendations on razor selection and care, shaving techniques, honing and patience. As many have mentioned in previous posts, I too wish I had started this venture years earlier – the satisfaction of using well-honed vintage razors and achieving great results is hard to beat. Thank you all for the help you’ve provided – even without knowing it. I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned and continuing to discover more.
