Thread: Hello from Oregon

Hello all:

My name is David, and I just purchased my first Straight razor (a kind of merry Christmas to me)

So far I batting 50/50, first shave drew some blood off the sideburn , second was good, third one took off a bit of flesh off my fingetip as I was wiping shaving cream from the blade, and the last one was good.

I feel like I have a long ways to go before knowing much about the art of shaving, but I'm really enjoying the charm of using an instrument which takes me back a hundred years in time.

Just out of curiosity, where would a person find a store that carries either straight razors or shaving accessories?

I am in Washington State and I have no idea where to find a shop that sells them. take your time and go slow while learning, once you get it down you are in for a treat.

There actually is a place downtown Seattle, I will try and find their link again..

We have quite a large PNW membership and normally have one if not two Meets per year. in the past they have been in Yakima and Spokane in the Spring and Fall
