I answered this twice on my cell phone. Guess it didnt work. I live in Tecumseh, MI which is in Lenawee County. SE Michigan. Im closer to Toledo, OH and Ann Arbor, MI then Detroit.

How do I find people that know what their doing in my area. My barber uses disposables. I tried that. Very dangerous for a beginner. Not much wiggle room. Sold the thing on EBAY after my first shave with it.

Welcome aboard!! With the suffering you described and you keep coming back for more, it shows determination. Others may call it something else, but don't be swayed. Read, watch videos, and ask questions and your shave experience will get a heckuva lot better!! You mentioned pictures, well, just so you don't feel alone; there is a Cut of the Day thread!

Hang in there, you're trip up the learning curve will feel rewarding.

Dave I am in Milan, just about 35 minutes from Tecumseh. I will shoot you a PM with my address and such. Another closer option is head over to Maggard razors in Adrian. Brad (Undream) just opened a shop and is really helpful. He would have the gear that you need and the know how to get you started. maggardrazors.com

Thanks. I found Brad's Shop yesterday.

This AM was my first "bloodless" shave. Both sides of my face. Haven't gotten to my neck yet as I am having technique problems with the left side of my face. Dont do too well with my left hand (some numb fingers) and when I use my right hand on the left side of my face and try to stretch my skin from BELOW the razor I am reaching into a pile of shaving creme. I guess I should try shaving UP on that side. Still real fumbley.

Brad's store is really nice. He has invested in a lot of inventory. Need to spread the word so he can make a go of it.
