Thread: strop paste (red/black)

Hey guys, I'm a newbie to straight razor shaving and looking for advice on stropping. I was sold on Dovo strop paste. It comes with two blocks; Red and Black. Is the red for the canvas strop and the black for the leather? The sales person wasn't very helpful...

I have two strops. One for daily use with a leather/linen strop, and then I have another strop that I was going to paste. What goes where??

Any help would be appreciated.

I like both on leather but with what you have the red on linen and the black on the leather side will work good.

Just remember with these paste especially there is a lot of transfer from strop to blade when using. So before going from red to black make sure to give the blade a good wipe down. And the same when you go from black to your everyday strop.
