    Default Hello from California

Hello from California, I actually started making knives about 6 months ago and thought it would be cool to try and make a couple straight razors. So I came here to get some tips and learn the nomenclature.

San Jose area. My knives are nothing fancy to look and I am still learning. Heres a few I finished up today in D2. I have a 10" wheel Ive only used a couple of times so far, looking forward to making a straight razor with it.

    Hi, and welcome to SRP!

There are a couple of places you'll want to check out here:

    The Workshop

    The Forge

    Good luck

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Welcome,,,,

Note razor steel is tempered differently (harder) and temper is important.

Stainless like D2 is not a common steel for razors.

Hunt for some $5 or less cracked and broken razors to use as templates.
