Thanked: 0Hello from Okotoks Alberta
Hello my name is Paul Giguere, I am in a small town just outside of Calgary in southern Alberta.
I am very new to straight razors, never been shaved by one or tried using one.
I have mostly been stubble or short beard for the last few years. I have decided though that I want to start shaving more and if I am going to do that I want it to be a meaningful proper shave. Hence the straight razor.
I have been reading up on out quite a bit in the last few weeks.
Trying to find and decide on a good place to start.
I found this deal online and am very interested.
http://www.classicedge.ca/index.php?...product_id=824
I am interested in what some of you think.
Thanks,
Paul Giguere

Welcome to SRP!
keep reading and watch the you tube videos especially Lynn Abrams one which will take you through a shave. That sets looks similar to many starter sets from various vendors. i've never dealt with that vendor so i cannot give you any other info.

Hi, I don't know about the value of the package, but I can at least vouch for classicedge.ca. Great customer service.
If you do end up ordering from them, make sure to ask Phil to get that razor shave-ready before shipping it!
Another online shop this side of the border is fendrihan.com. I ordered 4 times and got great customer service and quick shipping every time.
I also read a few good comments about italianbarber.com, but I haven't tried them yet.
Of course, have a look at the classified here.
Oh, and welcome to the forum, you'll find a lot to read and many gurus to help you around here.
Cheers.

Ordered the kit today. Hopefully it should arrive the second or third week of February.

Actually, you'll most likely get it by the end of next week if Phil is back in the action (he had to take a 1-2 week hiatus earlier this months for personal reasons). The regular or expedited parcel service shouldn't take too long. But yeah, Canada Post might mess it up.
Cheers.
