Thread: Starting on this great journey!

Hello to all,
I'm just Deep South country boy that lives in the northern plains now. I've been wanting to straight shave since I first learned to shave. I had a lot of barbers tell me that it would be the worst thing in the world for my face. I've already proved them wrong for about a month now with my beginners shavette. Looking forward to jumping in with the big dawgs soon.

Welcome to SRP!! There's lots of info, lots of folks willing to help. Some reading in our wiki can really help in the beginning. What to's, and what not to's about most everything from which razors are good or not good to what prep work should be done, etc., etc. you'll find a link below. Welcome to SRP! I've had barbers (old timers even) baffled at the idea that someone still straight shaves. I'll never go back.

Where about in SoDak are you located? I used to live in Brookings, but no reside in NW Iowa.
