Thread: Hello, everybody! New Guy Here!

Greetings SRP Community,

My name is Kohl Anderson, I'm nineteen years old and live in a small Illinois town. Some call me old-fashioned, but I was raised by those from a bygone era when being a gentleman was expected. I've always had a passion for the finer things in life, and I am finally growing facial hair worth putting effort into maintaining. So, I decided I'd up my class a smidge and learn the art of the straight shave. Never one to rush into things, I sifted through the Internet for a while before stumbling into this wonderful place. I come here seeking the advice of sages, and I hope to one day be able to lend advice to those who find themselves in this very same place!

Welcome Kohl to SRP!
Take your time, do some reading (beginner's guide) watch some good videos (lynn Abrams, mantic59, gssixgun... to name a few) and ask questions.
before you buy check and make sure you are dealing with a reputable company, ask us we will tell you. Many newer guys make the mistake of buying something that looks good but is not really a razor (it will not hold an edge).

Thanks for the suggestions! I've already been doing some research, reading other beginners' testimonials and such 'n' such. I think I'm starting to get a feel for what I should be looking for.
