Hi all, newbie Steve here. I’ve been lurking for a while, thought I’d introduce myself.

Been interested in SR shaving for a while, got really serious several weeks ago and have been trying to do all the research and study that I can do.

I’ve been benefiting from all the advice and experience on boards like these as well as You Tube videos, various shaving websites, etc. So thanks everyone!

Finally purchased a Wutz Wheat Sheaf from ShaveSmith. It’s 5/8, round point, top and bottom jimps, so sharp it could slice a hair lengthwise, and was more than reasonably priced. Basically everything a beginner could want!

I’ve only done one shave so far, based on the advice it was cheeks only, WTG. Again, thanks to everyone for the advice because it was textbook.

Once I get a little more experienced and do a more thorough shave I’ll post back again to let you know how it’s going.

However, there was something else I though was interesting and would like to share about the day of my first shave. Earlier that day I got my haircut. I like going to Olde Fashioned barbers for that and when he was done he shaved the back of my neck to clean it up. As it turned out he used a straight razor. I thought it was interesting because before my first shave I was able to get a real-life example for how it should feel against my skin and tried to duplicate that when I shaved.

Anyway, more to come…
