    Default Hey all

    Hey everyone,
i just joined & just started using a straight razor.
Straight razors scare the hell out of me ( kinda like clowns), but I like learning new skills and doing things that me slow down and relax, like cigars, scotch and skydiving.
So if I ask dumb questions, smiled and nod and take pity on me and point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.
    blue skies and eat well

Welcome, enjoy, but no jumping and shaving.

Nice to have ya here Ollie, welcome. You'll find all the info you'll need around here to help you with your shave.
Peruse "The Finer Things" forums as well...you'll find threads to develop your other relaxation activities as well

Don't we usually add: save the scotch until you are done with the shave part of the day? Or at least that scotch is best enjoyed in moderation until the shaving is done? There is only so much a styptic pencil can do.

Ollie, 'A pleasure to have you. Being scared of a str8? Well, that shows you have a pulse and a few brain cells on speaking terms. You bet its scary to start. An then, you eyes go wide and you can't believe anything that sharp, properly wielded, is so smooth against the face and so effective on the beard. If you skydive, you've used to taking assumed risks with the right mindset. You're gonna do fine w/ a str8. It would be fair to say you've hit the motherload of great help and good attitudes. It'll be good to hear more from you.
