Thanked: 0Noob From GA
Hello, I'm a noob to SRP and to cut throat shaving. I have been viewing/researching straight razor shaving for awhile and figured it was time to jump in. Got a Boker King Cutter on the way and ready to get started. Wish me luck, I'm sure the learning process will be slow, but the end result will be worth it.

G'Day and welcome to SRP.
It's the learning process that is worth it - and the resultant smooth shave, of course.
Glad to have you on boardHang on and enjoy the ride...

We all wish nothing but the best for your new journey. You are correct about the learning curve, but it will be all worth it in the end.
Good luck and again welcome.

It is a life long journey and well worth the adventure. Its been 35 years for me.

Thanked: 0Thanks for the encouragement fellas. To the GA Boys, I might have to get together with one/several of you to get some honing tips, but all of that will be in time. Can't put the cart in front of the horse!!
@Moosiker - The Boker KC will be my first cut throat (it was between the KC and the Edelweiss, no stock on the E meant the KC won out). I wanted to start with a good blade to ensure a great experience. I got it from SRD for what I think is an awesome price. Not to mention it comes professionally honed by Lynn. Just an added bonus.
My order hasn't even arrived and I already have the fever.

make sure to read the "Your first shave..." article. Getting a razor honed by Lynn is exactly the way to start. Fire me a message if you need anything. I know the fever

Good luck, and have fun! I just ordered a razor so I'll be right behind you! When I first moved to Georgia I lived in Loganvillle for 15 years. For 2 of those years I worked in Athens so I went through Monroe on the way to work and back every day.
