Good day ladies (if any) and gents
Hello everyone!
This is my first post and let me say that I think that this is a great place and to be part of it is a privilege. There are so many information here and people ready to help you.
I am an absolute beginner in straight razor shaving and have so much to learn. And on top of that I have already made my first mistake and ordered a cheap razor I know I should have known better, but I had no idea that straight razor shaving is so.... uhh well, complicated. I stumbled on some nice website with this straight razor shaving idea and decided to give it a try because I have problems with my ingrown hairs for long time. Now, I looked on ebay and amazon, ordered $40 razor and $20 strop and just than started to discover this beautiful and hidden world of straight razor shaving. After that I have ordered some more quality products for after shave, soaps, etc. Now I have to find some better quality straight razor and probably strop, hone and couple of more things. I would go again with some cheaper (not as cheap as the last time of course) razor because I would want something better when I learn more about straight razor shaving. When I know what is best for me. It is going to be a long time before a do a proper shave, before I learn everything and have any experience... But I am looking forward to every step of it! When I think on my plastic triple razor and that I need to shave with it later on, I feel depressed...
But at least now I know I am on right place! Now I know where people come to share their knowledge and to help others with the same problems I have!
Thank you all in advance!
PS. Any advice and correction in any topic will be highly appreciated!

Thanked: 983If you're looking for cheap but decent gear, try whippeddog.com and their sight unseen razor. Add on a poor mans strop to the order and you'll be on your way. The razor is ready to go when you get it. It's a secondhand razor you'll be buying, but it's a good start. Later, you might like to check out SRD.com for a new razor and strop. Again they have reputable gear, and the razors come ready to go out of the box.

Thanks, I really hope so. I don't know how was it for you in the start guys, but I feel it is going to be like I have a date every time I need to shave. You know?
Edit: Was that weird? I don't want to scare anyone
