Cool Tarkus. I love Philly. Always have been a fan of the Eagles, Phillies, and especially the Flyers. A guy who is like an Uncle to me is producer of sports for Comacast used to be PRISM and he got me into lots of games free in the mid and late 80's. I was able to get Wayne Gretzky to sign my program after a game at the Spectrum restaurant/club after the game. Plus in Allentown we were able to get the great Philly local tv stations like WKBS ch 48, ch 17, ch 29, and in the late 80's ch57. Sorry for the Philly rant. If your younger than me you may not know what the heck I'm talking about. Anyway, I still go into Philly for some fun. I like Monk's for a good beer, but choices are unlimited.

My family spent some time in Allentown as well. Had many a meal in Hess's basement restaurant. Remember when you were a kid and they served your food in a tiny little stove at your table. Those were the days. The course red and green sugar at the table and how can you forget the cream puffs the size of a footballs. We were heartbroken when they tore down that store.

I've only sent 1 out to get honed. Many people here offer the honing services for very reasonable fee. Localy I don't know of anyone personally but there may be somebody somewhere. I've been on a hunt for hones locally and I'm having absolutely no luck.

Yes, I was heartbroken also. I loved "the Patio restaurant" and Hess's in general. I would always get the frogs legs and then their world famous strawberry cake. They had strawberries flown in from somewhere special just for the cake! As a kid the knights armor and other statues was also pretty cool. The cream puffs were huge. Every Christmas I would get presents inside boxes with he multicolored Hess's script logo. It's really cool someone from Philly remembers Hess's. It must of been bigger than I thought. I remember Philly stuff very well, but that is where all our TV was marketed. I have a dear place in my heart that I never even went to. The Krass Bros. clothing store. The commercial were great and I still watch them on YouTube often. I did drive by it when going to South St. Awesome stuff.
