Thanked: 0Howdy from Saskatchewan Canada
Howdy!
Since I already have a love of old mechanical things (pocket watches, steam engines and the like) I have been fascinated with straight razor shaving, especially after going to the barber the first time for a shave. So I bought a dovo shavette to try things out with a good sized blade sampler pack. Since I already shave with a brush and porasso shave soap and preshave cream its great to finally get the whole experience in.
I have managed to keep myself down to two or three nicks a shave, only cut myself once and my wife still thinks im nuts (first time she has ever asked me not to shave). Still get way less razor burn than I do with a standard safety razor. Looking forwards to actually learning something here and hopefully managing to get into all those stupid little spots on my face that I cant quite shave.

Welcome, from a fellow Canuck! There's a heck of a lot of information in the wiki (library link in the top menu), and everyone here is really helpful if you have any questions. Enjoy the community and the experience!
