Thread: Hello from Athens - Greece!

Good day to all of you!

My name is Dimitris and I am from Athens Greece! I find this forum such a great and interesting one!

I use razor blade for shaving and an old nice gillete razor from 1960's! I use razor blades from Astor, an old and classic Greek razor blade firm that now is under Bic company.

I am also a pipe smoker.

Hope to learn many nice and interesting knowledge here!

I am currently a couple of countries up from you in Kosovo. I will be having a few days of liberty in the beginning of April and I plan on visiting Greece. I will be renting a car in Skopje, FYROM then driving to Thessaloniki. I don't know if I will make it down to Athens or not. My buddy and I are thinking of also going to Larissa.

I to have a 1960's Gillette safety razor, I like it a lot, I have some Astor blades but have not used them yet. What Greek shaving products should I be on the look out for? I plan on trying to look in every antique shop I can find for straights and DE's.

As I already mentioned, I use a Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed Safety Razor from 1960's. It was my father's razor and after he passed away in 1995 I took it. I love this safety razor so much, it reminds me of my father and I used to see this safety razor since I was a kid and now I am using it with respect!
