    Default Hello from Illinois

Hello everyone. My name is Joseph, 28, from the NW suburbs of Chicago. Went to Woodfield mall yesterday and found The Art of Shaving.. I have wanted to try straight razor shaving for years, and finally threw down the cash on a startup rig. The guy there said to definitely get it honed before first use, so I am sending it off soon, and I look forward to learning. So it is good to meet everyone!

Welcome to the party. What razor did you decide on? I picked up a Dovo from the Art of Shaving store in Old Orchard back in 2011 and it still shaves great. Ask any questions you have and we'll try to help. Where in the northwest suburbs are you?

welcome to SRP, looks like I'll have more competition at the antique stores and flea markets when RAD, HAD, and BAD get a hold of you!

Welcome to the forum. Chicago seems a good place to be as a beginner. If the rent weren't so cheap down here in the sticks, I might just migrate myself.

I got a Dovo, the basic one, black handle. I can't wait to send it off so I can get it back and try it!
I'm here in Woodstock. It's an alright town.. Pretty boring , but nice and quiet. They still have a 10 day celebration every year for Groundhog Day because the Bill Murray movie was filmed here some 20 years ago, so that's pretty embarrassing.
