Thanked: 1Greets
Hello. Name is Tom, been thinking about straight razor shaving after being unsatisfied with the longevity and shave quality of disposables.
Purchased a SightUnseen razor from whippeddog (H.J. Herskovitz), as well as a poorman strop. Had my first shave today, cheeks and neck, finished with a disposable for the chin. Had some pulling on the neck area, bit of razor burn, but I hear this will get better with practice.
Anyways, I don't post on forums much, but looking forward to lurking.

From my experience, yes it does get better. I have gone from bloody mess of a first shave to smooth and irritation free shaves. Everyone has there own learning curve. With persistence and patience you will get where you want.
