just had my fourth shave not done as well today still no nicks or anything just seemed like I couldn't get settled with the razor been pretty comfortable with it the previous times on a positive note just put a new bathroom cupboard on the wall for all my fancy pants razor kit so still smiling even with my once again hot feeling face lol

I'm a newbie too but I agree with previous posts. Too much pressure and wrong angle were causing my razor burn. I think it also dulled my razor pretty quickly, along with poor stropping technique probably. My shaves started pretty good like yours but after a week and a half were getting worse. I touched up the razor on a Chinese 12K and they got much better. I am still ordering a 2nd shave ready razor from SRP so that I will have a reference of what it's supposed to feel like while I'm perfecting my technique shaving and honing on my first razor. I hardly get any razor burn now as I'm using hardly any pressure and really paying attention to my razor angle. Good luck! It does get better.

Just go slow, relax, breath and as my drill Sergeant said.....remember your training and you will make it. Thou every time he look at me he shook his head?

Three passes WTG XTG ATG on only your second shave is crazy.
Most of us were shaving for 6 months before attempting a ATG pass.
Your technique is going to be poor for at least a month or two, that's just the nature of the game so three passes is gonna hurt !
Slow down and just go with one or two WTG passes for a while. When you have that cracked move on to WTG XTG and so on.
    Best of luck.

lol thanks for all the good advice and even though I tend to leap before I look it also makes me hit the ground running i'm ten shaves in now and settling in nicely i'm glad to say my razor is still doing a fine job of making me pay attention so still sharp as the lasses tongue lol and my dad turned up with some old razors in hand from a mates old hut they're guessed at 60/70 years old I've no idea as to there reputation but I've started restoring them in my spare time no real hurry about it but interesting so i'll post some pics when done and lucky old me my bro turns up and gives me three japanese wet stones all brand new 4/8/and 12k that he got me through his work so i'm in harmony with the universe at the minute by the by aftershave made a real difference to my face, hope everythings going well for all out there in the ether.
