Default Giving the straight a try after 3 years on the Mach 3

I started straight razor shaving about 3.5 years ago and gave it up after 6 months. Well I'm back at it again!

the first time I tried this I remember my shave was much nicer than it is now. It looks like I took a weed eater to my face. I'm burning my styptic pencil from both ends.

Im gonna browse around for some tips.

This is why I purchased the Dovo Bismarck from Vintage Blades. I know Lynn does a great job honing these. The one I am using passes the hanging hair test easy.

Fellow weedeater face survivor here. Best advice is to ask a lot of questions and study videos of people shaving. This is the video that helped me the most: Chimensch's Shaving Video - YouTube

There's a help section here Straight Razor Place - Welcome to Straight Razor Place. Look at the Helpful Links section.

This online book (can either read it online or download it and own a copy) is really helpful Shaving made easy; what the man who shaves ought to know .. : 20th century correspondence school, New York. [from old catalog] : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive.
