Hi, just decided it was time to stop using safety razors as thet are becoming too expensive.
this bit may shock some of you, but i have just invested in an electric razor...... fear not though, i have also ordered a shavette and some blades and some alum bloc.
i'm waiting for the shavette to arrive in the mail but i'm no rush as i don't have the time this week to practise, so will be electric shaving all week instead of the usual safety razors as the blade far too blunt now.
anyway, i have been interested in shaving with a proper straight razor for a few years but always been afraid, as the cost is not cheap starting out. so the shavette is a good start imo, will let you know how it goes when i have the chance to try it out after it eventually arrives.

Thanked: 1184Welcome to SRP. You should be able to find all the help you need here. I did. Looking back I find the savings not the best part of moving to straights. ( I am sure many are laughing at that comment) What you will learn is that it is more about the shave itself. Much better in my opinion and well worth the expense and learning curve. I used to hate shaving and now it is one of my favorite things to enjoy.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
