Thread: Good evening from Jersey, Channel Islands!

Hello all
I'm from Jersey (the original one, not NJ!) in the Channel Islands. For those that don't know, Jersey is an Island, 9x5 miles in size, in between France and England.
Just wanted to say thanks for all the great advice posted on here. With it, I completed my first straight razor shave this evening without turning the soap pink! Very pleased...though I couldn't tell you how long it took! I bought a cheap 'shavette' type straight with replaceable blades to see how I get on. I have my eye on several tasty Dovos but wanted to make sure this straight shaving business was for me, before I spent a lot on a razor and tools that end up in the drawer.

I just watched a TV show last week set on a fictional Channel Island during WW2 last week. I think the title of the show was World at War. I had heard of the channel islands but never realized just how close they were to France!
