Greetings from rural Missouri
Hello All, My name is John and I am from Missouri(a little west of Shoeless Joe). I became interested in straight razor shaving after reading a magazine article about it several years ago. Straight razors appeal to me because 1) they are reputed to provide the best shave 2) I am sick of the expense and waste involved with using multi-bladed cartidges 3) I am really into old-timey stuff. Old-timey stuff usually works better. Currently I am going through a rough spot financially so I have not bought any equipment. I had been looking at razors at antique stores but realized I did not know enough about razors to make a purchase. Hopefully in a couple of months I will be able to buy a starter set. In the meantime I am reading the wiki here and perusing the forum. I have already applied things I learned here in using my Mach 3. I would really like to link up with some members or attend a get to gether once my financial situation approves. In closing, thanks to the founders of SRP, moderators, and members who make this sight so cool and informative.
John

Thank you pixelfixed, that is a generous offer. I don't think my pride will let me accept at this time...trying to pull myself up by my bootstraps. Your offer does credit to yourself and this forum. Sincere thanks-John

Wow, thank you Lynn. I have been admiring your work these past months. It would be nice to make it to the get together. We'll see what the next couple of months bring. I live in Adair Co., which is about 1.5 hours drive north of Columbia, about the same west of Hannibal.
