    Default Greetings from northern Utah!

Hi all. I'm new to straight razor shaving. I got my first straight shave from my barber, and I was hooked. I got a Boker Edelweiss 5/8 from Straight Razor Designs along with the rest of the equipment that straight razor place said I would need. I have been reading up in the library and posts here in the forum, eagerly anticipating my razor. Any tips for a newbie?

    Writh,

    Welcome to SRP!!

Sounds like you'll be set to go when your package arrives. On tips, some great tips for beginners can be found in the link below in my sig. line, "Beginner's Tips" by gssixgun. Lots of really good stuff in there. If you have any specific questions afterward, ask away, and there are plenty of members ready to help.

One tip. It might be in the link, but, just in case. When you get your Boker from SRD, just gently wipe the oil off being careful to not damage the edge. For the edge, just a gentle strop type wipe on a soft clean cloth to remove the oil from it.

Don't strop or anything else before your first shave. Get the feel of a shave ready razor so you'll have benchmark to work from.

Enjoy the forum, and again, Welcome!!

    Howard
