Thanked: 270+1 on the Dovo Best Quality. I've been using that the last few weeks and it has really been an enjoyable experience at the lavatory.

Welcome Russell. Where do you live in Florida? My suggestion is to find a reasonably priced vintage razor to begin with. Why spend a lot of money on a razor and then find out you don't enjoy straight razor shaving. Unless, of course, you are holding that winning Powerball ticket that was sold in Florida last night. Then you can buy any dang razor that you please. I haven't checked my ticket yet, but if I won the $600 million you can have the pick of any of my razors.

A panhandler, hey? There are several nice shave ready razors in the classified section selling between $60 - $90. Remember, you should also have a strop to maintain the edge of your razor. Without a strop you will soon find shaving very uncomfortable. With proper stropping you can maintain a shave ready edge for a long time before you have to have it "touched up" with a hone. Stropping is a necessary skill that is just as important as perfecting your shaving technique. Read all you can about the basics of this art before leaping in. There are many good videos on YouTube that will help you along your way.
