    Default Hello from Swansea,Wales,Uk

    Hi all

I have been shaving with a straight razor for quite some time now and I cannot imagine ever going back to disposables.
I have also promised myself that I will teach my son from the day one how to handle a straight .
Last year I bought myself the whole range of Naniwa superstones,a lot of sand paper and a lot of micro-mesh plus a bench grinder with all the polishing bits and I have started restoring and honing my own razors.
I am pleased to say that I managed to restore a TI Le Grelot and a No Name rusian razor without too many cuts and only used the bench grinder to polish the blades.
When I first read about members spending 10 hours on a razor just to remove the pitting I thought it was a bit exaggerated but now I really understand why it takes so long when done properly and by hand sanding. It is a long process but the results are amazing.
This forum has proven to be an unlimited source of "how to" for everything a beginner in the art of razor restoring needs to know.
I will post in the restoration section about my recent purchase hopefully in the next hour .

    All the best from Swansea,Uk

    Emilio
