Hey all
First off, let me say thank you to everyone here for creating and contributing to this fine forum. There is a wealth of information here and a very supportive membership.
On to introductions,
My name is Evan and I have been straight razor shaving for all of two weeks. So far I have found it very enjoyable both in the shave itself and also the art and science of it.
I purchased a Ralf Aust 5/8, strop, and some Poraso shave soap from SRD and had it shipped out here to Afghanistan to begin my experience. I had no idea how much there actually was to straight razor shaving and I definitely had no idea how much I would enjoy the whole process. Shaving, prepping for the shave, and caring for the razor have become a welcome source of peace and solitude out here. Funny how something as simple as shaving, once considered a chore, can bring such enjoyment.
Anyhow, thanks again for the great resource.
Evan

Welcome to SRP, and we all wish you a safe and happy homecoming ASAP.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Thank you gentlemen for the welcomes. I see that this newfound hobby has a high potential to become a disease, much like black rifle disease and amateur radio disease.
