Thread: New guy here!

Always been into getting straight razor shaves at my local barbershop and LOVED the way they made me feel, but would only get it done for special occasions because of the cost. Figured if I bought my own cost shouldn't be a factor anymore. I picked up a used blade and accessories from Larry over at Whipped Dog to get into it at a minimal cost to see if it is for me or not before going head over heels into it. I also picked up a double edge razor thinking I may use that more on a daily basis and then use the straight for weekends or days off, when I have more time for me.

I'm a bit of an old school guy, I smoke a pipe, I carry a Zippo, I don't like automatic transmissions, this just seemed like a natural progression for me.

Also pretty excited that going through some of my old shave stuff from when I used to "shave" with my dad as a kid I found a few bottles of old formula Old Spice aftershave which seems to be highly desired to the "new" stuff. I'm pretty excited looking forward to this new hobby of mine and I'm sure I'll be asking a few very stupid questions to start. I'm very glad to have found this forum!
