Thanked: 0So I met this guy named Lynn this one time...
Hi everybody!
A guy named Joe from Chicago here, just checking in to introduce myself. Been a wet DE shaver for about 5 years now, and after having met and heard Lynn speak at the Great Shave last fall (can't wait for this year's event again!) I decided to take the plunge this spring and started on the path of straights.
I think I'm the exception to the rule in that I don't see myself getting too bad of RAD, but I'm a total product whore (am I allowed to say that here? I wonder if it will edit out? Oh well, easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...) and have a cabinet...and drawers...and boxes filled with oils, creams, soaps, astringents, fragrances...and can't really stop myself.
Other than shaving, my hobbies (obsessions? I'm not good at moderation) are sports (go Hawks!), coffee (I roast my own when not judging the most judgemental of snobby Chicago coffee shops), and general IT geekery (I love my job!).
Looking forward to getting some more tips, tricks, insight and advice on straight razor shaving, and hopefully getting to know a few of you to meet up at the next Great Shave!
Cheers!

Hey Joe! A fellow Chicagoan here. Great introduction! You'll find a lot of knowledgeable, fun people here so ask a lot of questions. Like you, I love the potions but I also have a thing for brushes... and straights... and scuttles... I haven't been to the Great Shave yet but I'm planning to go this year.
