    Default Greetings from Ohio

    Hello everyone,
Fred here, I've been lurking/learning for awhile finally made an account. I'm a late 20's something that is looking to get into straight razors. Now I'm imagining that many may balk at what I'm about to say, or not, but it's my life let me do it the hard way :P.

I'm at heart a knife maker, have been doing it for years now, and am in the process of making my own straight razors. I feel very confident in my ability, but I'm not stupid enough to think I might just cut my face off instead. That's just how I do things.

That being said, I'm excited to enter this world of straight shaving, and excited to be a part of the community!

Wynndow, Welcome to SRP. Some big leaps there. , but thats OK. Fresh minds, fresh ideas. Just know that we all on SRP(OK most ) Are here to help, guide, and assist. Sooo, when the brick wall shows up ; as it has at some point for all of us; Ask questions. I'm kind of a "Balls To the Wall" kinda guy too. Jumping is fine. Just study on were your wanting to land. Makes for less back tracking, but thats kinda some of the fun aint it. Brian

Yeah, I'm in full understanding that I may be leaping to my immanent death lol, but I'm hoping that I can tuck and roll just in time. I actually have the blade done and ready to set the bevels and such, I feel this is where the brick wall will either be climbed or I'll just slam head first into it. So in order I've been doing a lot of reading, but if anyone has a good reference or pointers for starting the edge I'm all ears.

Thanks Mike! New London isn't far from me, Shreve/Wooster area.
